Study Law

At first glance, study law sounds rather dry and boring. Nevertheless, it is important to know at least the basics. This is because study law provides the legal framework for the organizational process of studying (e.g. registration and deregistration for exams, number of exam attempts, etc.) and protects us students from arbitrariness (e.g. right of inspection, examination boards, etc.).

We - the Department of Educational Policy - deal with the relevant legal texts and prepare the essential regulations for you in a clear form.

Here you will find an overview of:

  • Study law: Overview of the most important rights and obligations during your studies.
  • Examination law: Everything you need to know about registration and deregistration from exams, taking exams and legal protection.
  • Tuition fees: Information on when they have to be paid and how you can be exempted from them.
  • Innovations in study law: Information on new regulations due to the UG amendment from the 2022/23 academic year.
