Working Group on Equal Opportunities

The Working Group on Equal Opportunities is a service institution for all employees and students at TU Graz. The aim of the working group is to promote gender equality and diversity management at TU Graz. The working group advises the members and bodies of the university on issues of gender equality and the advancement of women in accordance with § 42 para. 1 of the Universities Act 2002. Individual members of the working group are involved in personnel matters. If you contact a member of the working group with a concern, this person will advise you confidentially. At your request, your contact person in the working group can, with your consent, bring your concerns to the attention of the relevant bodies of TU Graz. The members of the working group are bound by official secrecy.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of preventive measures to prevent possible discrimination
  • to counteract discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion or ideology, age and/or sexual orientation by university bodies
  • to advise and support university bodies and university members in matters of gender equality and the advancement of women; the members of the working group provide confidential advice.
  • to pursue agendas of equal treatment without distinction of ethnicity, religion or ideology, age or sexual orientation
  • Exercising information, participation and control rights in equal treatment issues and in personnel matters: Approval of job advertisement texts, monitoring of job interviews and approval of the recruitment application. The Working Group on Equal Opportunities is not a decision-making body and exercises accompanying control in this regard.
  • Participation and monitoring in professorial appointment and habilitation procedures
  • Submitting complaints to the Arbitration Commission
  • Preparation of an annual activity report for the University Council and the Rectorate.
