Psychosocial counseling for TU Graz students

How are you?

Most of the time, we answer this question simply with “fine, thanks”. The plain fact is, however, that we are not always as fine as we say we are. Many students are worried, stressed, anxious about exams or have problems in their private lives. If you know exactly what this means and you need someone to talk to, our team of excellent psychologists is here for you via Helpchat powered by Instahelp or in a face-to-face personal conversation.

Student Helpchat

Asking for advice via the Student Helpchat is easy to do and very low-threshold. You can contact to our psychologists via text chat, video or audio telephony – regardless of the time and place. A consultation can take place in the comfort of your home for example – and this even in the evening or at the weekend. All Instahelp psychologists are trained clinical and health psychologists with at least 3 years of professional experience in on-site counselling along with additional training in online counselling.

Advantages of the Student Helpchat:

  • No waiting time and maximum flexibility
  • 100% anonymous
  • Highest quality and data security
  • The Student Helpchat can be accessed via the side menu in the Studo app.

The Technical University of Graz is providing you with advice in the Student Helpchat free of charge starting in October.

All students are entitled to 5 sessions of 50 minutes each free of charge. The offer is available via the Studo app or directly at https://instahelp.me/.

Give it a try! Click on "Login", then "Register", then on "Redeem activation code or voucher" and finally enter the TU Graz Code you can find in tu4u.

Personal psychological advice

You will also have the possibility of making a personal appointment with one of our psychologists and therapists in addition to the online service starting in October.

The psychosocial counselling centre is intended to support students with confidential conversations in their search for possible solutions both to study-specific problems and in personal conflict situations.

Possible topics for which psychological counselling can help:

  • Dealing with stress in your studies, work or in private life (stress management, conflicts at work, relationship problems, exam anxiety, ...)
  • Support during crises (losses, separation, sudden changes, ...)
  • Development of personal strengths and resources
  • Questions about professional development and career
  • Treatment of psychological symptoms (anxiety, depressive mood, stress symptoms, ...)

Up to 3 consultation sessions of 50 minutes each are provided for each student. These can be arranged directly with the respective psychologist by phone or e-mail.

If you need long-term support, the psychologists will help to refer you to further services. Please bring your TU Graz card with you for the first session.

You can also find all information in TU4U under Other aspects of studying.

Psychological student counseling

The psychological student counseling service helps students to improve their ability to cope with their studies and to overcome problems during their studies. All services are free of charge and can be used confidentially, anonymously if desired.
