Psychosocial counseling for TU Graz students

How are you feeling?

We usually answer this question with “Fine, thanks”. However, the fact is that we are not always doing well. Stress, exam nerves or problems in our private lives are a concern for many students. If you feel the same way and need someone to talk to, the psychologists are there for you in the Student Helpchat or on site.

Online counseling

Counseling in the Student Helpchat is low-threshold and simple. You can talk to the psychologists via text chat, video or audio call - regardless of time and place. For example, counseling can take place from the comfort of your own home - even in the evenings and at weekends.

Advantages of the Student Helpchat:

  • No waiting time and maximum flexibility
  • 100% anonymous
  • Highest quality and data security

Easy to access via the Studo app: The Student Helpchat can be accessed via the side menu of the Studo app. Graz University of Technology provides you with advice in the Student Helpchat free of charge - simply enter your voucher code and try it out.

Personal counseling

In addition to the online service, there is also the option of making an appointment with one of our psychologists/psychotherapists.
The Psychosocial Counseling Service is intended to support students in a confidential conversation in their search for possible solutions to both work-specific problems and personal conflict situations.

Possible topics for which psychological counseling can help:

  • Dealing with stress at university, at work or in private life (stress management, conflicts at work, relationship problems, exam anxiety)
  • Support in crises (loss, separation, sudden change, etc.)
  • Identifying personal strengths and resources for implementation in work and studies
  • Questions about professional development and career
  • Treatment of psychological symptoms (anxiety, depressive mood, stress symptoms, etc.)

Up to three counseling sessions of 50 minutes each are provided for each student. Appointments can be arranged directly with the respective psychologist by telephone or email.
In the case of longer-term support, the psychologists will help to refer you to appropriate further services. Please take your TUGraz-card with you to the first session.

You can also find all information in TU4U under Other aspects of studying.
