During master’s program there is a mandatory construction exercise with 8 ECTS.

The master’s thesis itself consists of 30 ECTS.

Theses upon interest and unsolicited application

It is not obligatory to choose among free thesis vacancies. It is also possible to contact a research group on one of the institutes of Chemical and Process Engineering upon interest.

Here are the institutes of the research groups of Chemical and Process Engineering stated:

VT-Master-Infoevening (19.11.2024)

On the 19th of November 2024 , the Chemical and Process Engineering Study Representation organised an information event. The main topics discussed were the completion of the Bachelor's programme, the structure of the Master's programme, various opportunities to study abroad and free Bachelor's thesis topics at the chemical and process engineering institutes.

The collected presentations can be found here.

In the course of this event, the current status of free Bachelor theses at the chemical and process engineering institutes and TU-related research facilities was summarised in a document here.

EYE-NOVATIVE APPROACH FOR SMALL-SCALE MANUFACTURING OF OCULAR IMPLANTS

PAID DIPLOMA / MASTER’S THESIS (RCPE)

Objective:

The thesis aims to develop, test, and optimize a new processing platform for small-scale manufacturing of ocular implants. This technology should pose a fast and nearly waste-free approach, allowing formulation screening in the blink of an eye. Within this thesis, you will:

  • Perform a literature review of current strategies for industrial-scale and small-scale production of ocular implants
  • Work on formulation development, conduct thermal and rheological material characterization in the lab and analyze the generated data
  • Optimize the implant production process
  • Characterize the produced implants (determination of drug content, in-vitro drug release testing, etc.)
