This is the Makerspace
The HTU Makerspace is a creative place where students can turn their ideas into reality. As an extension of FabLab Graz, E-Lab, and Phi-Lab, it combines the autonomy and freedom of the E-Lab with the opportunities for idea generation, planning, and implementation provided by the FabLab. Here, you'll find a space equipped with high-quality equipment that serves as a workshop, lab, or practice space for courses and thesis work.
Our goal is to provide students with the space and support to unleash their creativity and inventiveness. In the HTU Makerspace, you can work independently on projects, apply what you’ve learned in your studies, and develop new skills—whether you just want to try something out or are tinkering with your next big project. Here, the result matters, but so does the joy of making and discovering!
Equipment and Opportunities
In the HTU Makerspace, you'll find everything you need to bring your ideas, prototypes, and university-related projects to life. There are comfortable seating areas and large workspaces for meetings and workshops, as well as workbenches with electrical and hand tools, along with various electronic devices. For digital work, you have access to computers with specialized software.
Additionally, you'll find a great selection of machines: 3D printers, 3D scanners, CNC milling machines, laser cutters, and vinyl cutters. The textile area is especially exciting, where you can get creative with a sewing/embroidery machine and a screen printing machine – opening up entirely new possibilities! If you have ideas for other tools or machines, we’re always happy to receive suggestions to further enhance the Makerspace.
