At the start of the 2025 winter semester, a survey was conducted at Graz University of Technology regarding the costs of model-making in the architecture program. Many students reported that materials, tools, and workshop usage account for a significant portion of their study expenses. The aim of the survey was to determine exactly how high these costs are and whether financial support is available from the university.

A total of 210 undergraduate and graduate students participated. They were asked not only about costs, but also about the materials used, how many models are built per semester, and whether they take advantage of resources such as leftover materials or workshops.

In addition, students were able to share their personal experiences and suggestions for improvement regarding model-building costs.
