About

What is EMESCC?

The European Mechanical Engineering Student Council Congress (EMESCC) is a regular conference where student council representatives from across Europe meet to exchange experiences and address common challenges. Through focused group work and workshops, they develop shared positions on educational and structural topics relevant to their fields.

The aim is to strengthen student representation both within their faculties and at a broader level, for example by contributing to discussions with national or international associations like the Faculty Association of Mechanical Engineering.

Each edition of EMESCC is hosted by a different participating student council, allowing attendees to connect with fellow representatives and explore various university environments. More than 30 student councils regularly take part. Common workshop topics include first-semester induction processes, programme quality, and accreditation systems.

History of the Event

The European Mechanical Engineering Student Council Congress (EMESCC) was founded in 2012 in Vienna, Austria, with the goal of connecting student councils from across Europe in mechanical engineering and other related study fields. What began as a small initiative has grown into a dynamic international event that blends academic exchange, technical innovation, and cross-cultural friendship.

Since its founding, EMESCC has been hosted regularly by a different student council, with each event shaped by the unique spirit of its specific host city. After a brief pause during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event made a strong return in 2022 at TU Darmstadt in Germany.

In 2026, EMESCC will return to Austria for the first time since its inaugural edition in 2012 — this time in the city of Graz. It will also mark the first-ever EMESCC hosted by TU Graz, bringing new energy and perspective to this long-standing tradition.
